Default ***OFFICIAL Strategy Discussion FORUM RULES Please read first***

The Strategy Discussion forum and sub-forums are where you can go to discuss the strategies and theoretical aspects of the game, post hand histories, and seek advice. Please keep all non-strategic posts out of this forum. When posting hand histories or write-ups of hands, please include as much information as possible including your table image, stack sizes, your read on opponents, etc, and please use a HH converter for online poker hands: Do not post the plain text hand history.

Which Forum Should You Post In?

General Poker Strategy is where you can post and discuss Poker strategies such as Game Theory, Opening Hand Ranges, and other wide-ranging poker concepts. This forum is not for specific hand analysis.

Ring Hand Analysis is where you should post hand histories and specific questions about poker hands you have played in live or online cash-games. Please clearly state the game and stakes in the title of the thread and whether the hand was played live or online (i.e. $100 NLHE Party, or $10/$20 Limit Holdem Live)

SNG & MTT Hand Analysis is where you can post hand histories and specific questions about tournament poker hands you have played. Please clearly state the game and stakes in the title of the thread and whether the hand was played live or online (i.e. Stars $55 Turbo STT, or $200 Daily at Foxwoods)

As with all of our forums Trolling, Spam and offensive content will not be tolerated:

    GENERAL FORUM RULES

    DO NOT TROLL!

No flaming or trolling is allowed in this, or any of our forums. If you engage in this behavior you will be suspended from the forum and possibly banned for life.

Examples of trolling are following specific posters around the forum and ridiculing them, or making harsh personal attacks. The consequences of these actions will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

    DO NOT SPAM!

We will not tolerate spam on the boards, such as posting random links to their sites and projects. If you engage in this behavior you will be suspended from the forum and possibly banned for life.

Examples of Spam are posting non-poker related links (especially to things you personally benefit from) or off-topic links to your site(s).The consequences of these actions will be decided on a case-by-case basis –first-time posters who spam will be perma-banned, while long-standing posters will be warned privately before action is taken in most cases.

We will not run the site with an iron-fist, and if you have written an article somewhere that is relevant to the conversation feel-free to post it; so long as you contribute to the discussion!

DO NOT POST PORNOGRAPHY OR MAKE INFLAMMATORY COMMENTS

Please refrain from posting anything that would be considered pornographic on the site, and under no circumstances will we tolerate hate-speech or other inflammatory remarks on the forums. The consequences of these actions will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

WHEN IN DOUBT, USE THE SEARCH FEATURE

Before you post a new thread please take two minutes to run a basic search to see if the topic has been discussed recently. We have been online since 2004 so there will always be some topics that get rehashed (and many need to be rehashed as the conversations are likely outdated) but please make sure you are not making a duplicate thread of an ongoing discussion.

    POST IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM

While we have many forums (with a lot of crossover between some) make sure you start threads in the appropriate forum. If you are not sure simply post in the General Poker Discussion (our most popular forum) since pretty much anything can be posted there and moderators can move threads to the appropriate forum if need be.
