Default Any free live on line poker games?

Hello all, I am a totally newbie... brand new!

Wondered if anyone knew of any live free online texas holdem poker games?

Meaning, play against people for no money, just so I can practice and get a feel for what it's like playing against someone rather than a computer.

    thanks

I believe they still have free money games on fulltilt.net and pokerstars.net

Not sure where you're located, but if you're near California, one of my local casinos has a play money site where you can win free stays at the hotel, free meals etcetera. baronaonlinepoker.com

    Good luck.

Live poker ain't free unless you play with friends, and then you can do whatever you want. It cost money to make money, unless you play online then you can join some freerolls, and make money without risking money out of your pocket.

depending on the software you may be finding yourself logging in as a real money player and looking for free tables or you log in as a free money player and you won't need to hand out too much info but you can play every table there for free...great experience

Play money games will give you a misinterpretation of how poker is played because people dont play true poker, they will call with anything because they have nothing to lose so I would stay away from play money games as far as possible. Facebook has Zynga poker and as far as play money goes I have found that the closest thing to real money poker but the misinterpretation concept still exists there so I would try avoid play money a far as possible.

Now I have played "No Pay Poker" also and there its Free money but eventually it is convertable to cash if you accumalate enough (freeds) to convert it and transfer it to Party Poker/ Pokerstars/mint poker etc. I cant remember exactly the terms there but I think 200freeds(site money)=1$ but you need 20$ equivalant to transfer to another site. I think (if memory serves) that they have a daily tournament wich is a one time offer if you havn't made a deposit on party poker that if you reach the top 10 (paying places) the first time you reach it it is worth 20$ on party poker straight away. Easiest 20$ you will get in your life, and even though there are decent players there it is also one of the softest sites in terms of opponents I have found. Thats going to be the best site to play on with "free"/play money you will find and it will be the best representation of true poker play you will find as the play money becomes real money when you have enough to convert , so the players play more geniune poker than any play money games you will find anywhere as in effect it is real money. Just watch your chat there as they have rules and your chat gets banned in a flash. Also know their rules as they dont take kindly to "promoting sites" wich aint affiliated, like full tilt isnt affiliated and enough transgressions gets your chat banned etc.

Then you have on just about any site freerolls for cash winnings and to a certain degree you will also find a trueer reflection of the game there. Only problem is like on full tilt you have 7500 players per freeroll and after 3-4hours of play if you lucky 45th place pays 0.90cents, and you gotto wonder if the time spent was worth it but its still a great training ground to hone your poker skills.

I am in south africa and we play on Silversands poker. They have freerolls for real money on monday, Wednesday and Sundays and the fields are not that big (700-800max) with a good load of micro rebuy tourneys with small fields (70-120max) but a lot of donk play in rebuy period so care needs to be taken during the rebuy periods, but after the rebuy periods solid play resumes and theres money to be made there. Hope it helps.
