    Also you said you were avg stacked? So my guess this was a super turbo correct? Being avg stacked with less then 10bb's has to mean very fast blind structure.

    When I first read this I thought J 10 s almost always has about 40% equity against most hands so why not shove preflop and realise your fold equity. Then if you get called you are probably not in bad shape. But if a hand flops really well I see why you might want to wait and see what comes. If you get shoved on you can happily call. Of course I don't really know what I am doing.

    Were u already in the money? If not, the shove was unwise. If u were already in the money then a push is fine.

    u got unlucky- he had 2 of the 8 cards u needed for the straight. It would've been better for u for instance, if he had 9's- hitting trips here wouldn't matter because a 9 is already on the board &u would have a shot at all 8 cards to win, instead of 6.
