Default Fake Chips discovered at Borgata

Interesting story to say the least. http://www.pokerforums.org/poker/pok...poker-open/388

Still unclear how it will all play out and how they will redistribute the prize money.

They caught the guy, found him after he tried to flush $2.7 in chips down a toilet, lol: http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/c...a4bcf887a.html

    "Almost impossible to detect."

Still a question of what they're going to do for everyone who was a victim of this, but given they caught the guy it will make it easier for them to make sure everyone feels they got a fair deal without worrying that they're rewarding someone for cheating in the process.

If he didn't flush them and just left he would have gotten away with it. Notice security cameras didn't find anything

No, I know, I was making a joke about how easy the guy made it for them. That's the funny thing about crime... it always seems like it should be easy to figure out the perfect crime, but criminals are very often not that smart, which is why they turn to crime in the first place.

But who knows what would have happened otherwise. They might have found other leads.

Anyway, I'm just glad they caught the guy and I hope they throw the book at him.

I've actually been thinking a bit about how you could prevent this kind of thing. An ideal solution adds value for the players, media, etc. as well as tackling the issue.

Dealers already call most of the action so if you just trained them to specify seat numbers as well (i.e. "Seat 6 raises. 5000." instead of just "Raise. 5000.") you could mic them up and use voice recognition software to track everything. That then gives you accurate chip counts for everyone, which is both nice for the players (seeing exactly where you're at in the tournament when you're on break, like you do in an online game) and the media, and also makes it pretty easy to trace things back and figure out who had more chips than they should have and when, and thus home in on where counterfeit chips were introduced.

Yea hows the 2+2 post by alleged Lusardi, "the chips were never intended to make it into play". What BS!!! For what other reason would those chips have been manufactured/produced if not to commit some sort of crime? Shame the poor guy musstve been ssold some bad drugs. Clearly he is hallucinating>
