Default PokerStars coming back to US in 2014 via NJ?

I am seeing everywhere that PokerStars and the DOJ have come to an agreement and PokerStars is set to return to the US market this year. If anyone has anymore information on this please let me know.

    Give this a read: http://calvinayre.com/2014/01/21/bus...market-return/

Might get some useful info in there.

Here is a good Twitter thread on this topic between some very smart, in the know people:

Still, it will take time to hash out a settlement, and then have the NJ DGE review their application --assuming the DGE even cares about the settlement, they seemed more interested in Isai's involvement with the company. Nut, maybe if he reaches a settlement they'll change their stance.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it won't be restricted to people in just NJ. Best thing for the player and the state would be to enter the world pool.

Does anyone know when Pokerstars plans on returning in to the US market in 2014? Soon?

Not likely to happen. The above stuff was rumor, and it hasn't panned out.

The problem is this, everyone seems to think that when PokerStars comes back you can go play the Sunday Million or hop on a cash-table with 50,000 other players, but it will simply be a small site in a single state. not much bigger than PartyPoker NJ or WSOP.com

I worked for Resorts in AC a million years ago & if the gaming commission is anywhere near as fucked up now as they were then, some will die of old age b4 PokerStars gets in.

Money talks and PokerStars can do allot of talking. If they do get their foot in the door then its a eminent countdown until the rest of the country follows suit, like weed.

Did pokerstars want to leave in the first place? Perhaps it was not a good business climate for them, but I thought they were forced out by the US Department of Justice
